Rob Schlegel moved
to Las Vegas in 1974 to become production manager for the Valley
Times (daily) newspaper, eventually acting as the de facto
general manager. The Valley Times newspaper, Las Vegas’ third
daily newspaper, closed in 1984 upon the death of its publisher.
During the next 24 years, Rob owned and operated several
publications in Southern Nevada, has been active in politics and
has been a community leader, participating in, or founding
numerous events and organizations which benefited the community.
During a brief sabbatical from publishing, Rob set up a medical
practice for a local physician and managed the business for just
over one year.
Also during this time, Rob bought, sold and managed a variety of
real estate properties, but never as a professional real estate

to school, became licensed and later joined Elite Realty. During
