I don’t just hear them, and there is a notable difference worth mentioning especially among sales people. Listening is to make a conscious effort to hear or to pay attention to what you’re hearing. Hearing is the awareness of sound. I think we can all list a few instances were we knew someone could hear us, but still weren't sure if they listened.
